By car : From the A22 highway choose exit Rovereto Sud and follow the directions for Riva del Garda; in Riva del Garda look for a parking place near the town center; from the A4 highway chose exit Brescia East if you come from the West or Peschiera if you come from the East and follow the directions for Riva del Garda

Autobus : From Trento, Rovereto, Verona, Peschiera there are daily buses to Riva del Garda

Ferry Boat: from April to October Riva del Garda is connected with the main cities of the lake; for info call 800-551801

Trail description

The Bastione of Riva del Garda is one of the icons of the town. Built on the Rocchetta mountain during the XV century as a military fortification above the town, it is easily reachable in 15-20 minutes walking along a paved road.

From the Bastione, it is possible to continue to the Santa Barbara church (600mt) in 1 hour following the 404 trail.

The view from the Bastione, with the town, the lake and the mountains all around, is unforgettable.

During Spring and Summer a bar is opened near the Bastione. The return is along the same road back to Riva del Garda.
