Trail description

The trail starts in Molina. Here the Museum with its Palafitte is open to the public and it is possible to visit these ancient buildings and the archeological artifacts found in the 30s. The archaeologists discovered an entire village of the Bronze Age and this area has been declared a Unesco heritage site.

From the 'Besta' beach, just in front of the Museum, a small sign indicates the direction for the lakeside walk and crossing a wooden bridge, near the campsite, the almost flat path follows the shore of the lake. Every place is a panoramic view point, with the turquois color of the water and the view of the mountains reflected in the lake. It is possible to have a rest and relax on the benches or tables where you can have a pic-nic. After circa 20 minutes you reach the paved road that you need to cross and follow for Belvedere street. The road starts to go up and after one kilometer reaches Mezzolago. The streets and the houses of Mezzolago, decorated with flowers and small murals depicting scenes of early life in the area, give this village a special charm. Crossing the paved road again, the path continues on the lakeside to the next town Pieve di Ledro. This side of the the lake is very touristic with restaurants and hotels and during the summer it is possible to rent a pedal boat, a canoe or a windsurf. Following the directions to the campsite, the path continues on the opposite lakeside. Here you will be surrounded by tall trees and through the leaves you can glimpse the clear water of the lake. A paved road brings you to the beautiful, charming Pur beach, continues in direction of Molina and in half an hour you will be back to the parking area.
