Trail Description

Starting from the center of Biacesa follow the signs for the church of San Giovanni (1 hour) and Cima Rocca (2 hours). After the last houses of the town, you reach a junction at which you need to go straight; on the right the path called Senter del Bech starts, a via ferrata n°470 for which you need to be equipped with the set and the helmet. The path is initially cemented and rises quickly in the woods leaving sometime the opportunity to admire the view of the valley.  After a first hard section, you reach another junction where you keep right and after few minutes you arrive to the church of San Giovanni. Here there is a picnic area with tables and you can have a break with a panoramic view of the Ledro valley. Near the church there is a building called Bivacco Arcioni, a Lieutenant fell during the First World War, from which there is a beautiful view of Lake Garda. Coming back to the church, follow the signs to the Galleries of the Great War. The entrance to the gallery consists of a slit cut into the rock, which is small but inside becomes large. It is necessary to have a flashlight. The tunnels are dug into the mountain and from the slots you can see the surrounding mountains. A vertical ladder leads up and the path continues with trenches and military ambushes; the trail requires a good experience of the mountain trails, a metal cord helps to climb up. Following the signs for Cima Rocca you reach the cross at 1090 meters altitude from where you can enjoy a fantastic view of Lake Garda and Trentino. From the cross of Cima Rocca you can continue straight to the north; here it is necessary to pay attention to the first downhill section. Continue on the main path until you get to the signs indicating the path number 460B to Val Vasotina. Following the path on the left, you enter in the woods, you will soon reach the Malga Degiacomi and then the junction found during the first part of the trail coming from Biacesa. You arrive to the town in circa 30 minutes.
